The following patch is available under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-SA 3.0) license. In broad terms, this means:

TL;DR: Don't sell reproduction carts of this game translation; if you're going to retranslate the game, be sure to credit the team that created the original patch; and don't distribute patched versions of the game in any way, shape, or form - including prepatched roms AND reproduction carts.

Buy a flash cart instead of wasting your money on an expensive reproduction card that uses EEPROM chips which lose their data after a few years. Or, use a console-based or PC emulator. I'm totally fine with that. Please don't give your money to people who profit from stuff game translators do for free.

The game that we should've gotten instead of that CRAPTACULAR Acclaim game, Airwolf is a typical flight shooter in the vein of Gradius. You can choose your weapons before the stage starts, and uh, you can go really frickin' fast! Just like the TV show! The first three seasons, anyhoo.

Here, you play the role of Stringfellow Hawke [Jan-Michael Vincent] and his best friend / sidekick Dominic Santini [Ernest THE MAN Borgnine], who pilot the supersonic helicopter known as Airwolf; Hawke gets a message that terrorists are holding his long-lost brother Saint James as a hostage, so Hawke fights their secret weapon: The HX-1 Battle Helicopter. Add to that, if you don’t fight it within 24 hours, they’ll drop a nuke over New York City! Yes, this game feels like a typical episode of the show, doesn’t it? ;)
